David is Co-Founder/Executive Director at Actorsworkshop LLP and heads up Actorsworkshop's producing subsidiary In A Supporting Role. He is one half of the team behind Porter's ~ Cardiff's newest bar and arts pub. He is also a guest lecturer at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Management & Finance on the Arts Management MA. David completed the Clore Leadership Programme as the 2011/12 Arts Council of Wales Fellow and worked closely with Anthony Sargent at The Sage Gateshead during the Fellowship, developing a new digital initiative for the landmark building throughout 2012.

Originally a professional Actor, David studied Drama followed by Arts Management. In 2001 he co-founded Actorsworkshop LLP and between 2002 and 2007 he worked as the Administrator for the Cardiff International Festival of Musical Theatre. In 2005 he was appointed the Producing and Administrative Director for Moving Being Ltd, managing the Nesta funded Alternating Currents Project at Swansea’s National Waterfront Museum.

In 2007 and 2008 he managed Engaging Cogs’ Wales-based events for Oxford University, consulted for Zoom Cymru (Wales’ young people’s film festival) and conceived/directed a performing arts installation for Reuters in their Canary Wharf headquarters.

During this time David was also the Project Manager at Diversions overseeing the public programmes at the Dance House. In 2008 he was appointed Deputy Director, responsible for the finance & administration, marketing, participation and projects departments. He coordinated the change of name to National Dance Company Wales and the successful business plan bid for the Investment Review. He left the Company in September 2011 to follow the Clore Leadership Programme as the 2011/12 Arts Council of Wales Fellow.

David is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

jamie lee

Jamie is co-founder and Artistic Director at Actorsworkshop LLP. He is the Youth Theatre Director and programme co-ordinator of a ‘Young Promoters’ scheme for Arts in Rural Gloucestershire.

Jamie studied Drama and in 2001 he co-founded Actorsworkshop LLP. As a freelance drama practitioner he started working with a number of organisations including the Sherman Youth Theatre, The Gate Arts Centre and Llanover Hall, where he began his passion for inspiring young people to develop the skills to become confident performers.

Jamie continues to work as a freelance practitioner/director and has guest directed for a number of companies and organisations such as Coleg Gwent, Lacey Theatre Company, The Academy of Musical Theatre Wales and The South Wales Theatre Collective. As Artistic Director of Actorsworkshop, Jamie has directed productions including ‘Death and the Maiden’, ‘The Good Person of Szechwan’ (Funded by the Arts Council of Wales), ‘The Lady of Burma’ (commissioned by Julie Morgan MP on behalf of the Burma Campaign), ‘The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui’, ‘Entertaining Mister Sloane’ and ‘Roberto Zucco’. He has also directed a number of musical theatre productions including ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Godspell’ along with classics such as ‘The King and I’ and ‘Calamity Jane’.

In 2008 Jamie completed a PGCE at Cardiff University and worked as a guest lecturer for Swansea Metropolitan University. Jamie continues to develop his passion for teaching others in order to reach their performance potential.
