Series 3: Autumn 2006

Series 3: Autumn 2006, The Gate Arts Centre, Theatre Venue

This third season of advanced workshops once again looked at the study of Constantin Stanislavski, "the father" of the acting system. Through weekly workshops, Stanislavski’s acting systems were examined using practical examples with the aid of a number of published texts. The group, having been divided into pairs looked at the following plays:

• Closer by Patrick Marber
• The Crucible by Arthur Miller
• Miss Julie by August Strinberg
• Death and the Maiden by Ariel Dorfman
• The Crucible by Arthur Miller

Stanislavski’s techniques such as Action, Units and Objectives and Emotion Memory were dealt with and explored by the group. For this series’ show back we used the original Gate theatre arrangement.
