Actorsworkshop: Advanced is a series of workshops for those who have a good existing knowledge of theatre and performance and who wish to delve deeper into the process of acting. To ensure you receive close tuition we keep the number of participants low, so competition for places is high. Applications now being considered for the next intake.
The sessions will look are current acting techniques, using a mixture of examples by practitioners such as Constantin Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg, David Mamet and Sandford Meisner. Techniques will be applied to an established piece of text, and dealt with using practical activities and exercises.
The course is demanding. Due to the compact nature of the course, we ask that successful participants commit to the process wholeheartedly, this including taking on background reading and scene study beyond the weekly sessions. This ensures the creative process is fully explored by all involved.
Should your first stage be successful we will then invite you to audition in front of a panel using a monologue of your choice, that lasts between 2 and 3 minutes. The genre and period may be of your own choosing and should best demonstrate your greatest strengths.
