About Us
Actorsworkshop run acting, community involvement workshops in theatre, presentation and personal development.
We provide a wide range of theatrical and personal/professional development experiences, primarily through workshops. We run a creative, focused, and regular workshop session (at Chapter Arts Centre and The Gate Arts Centre, both in Cardiff). We also provide tailor made, one to one, drama tuition and bespoke training schemes for individuals and groups.
We are often asked to deliver corporate training and development through the proactive use of theatre professionals, and deliver tailored workshops and training programmes for our clients. Our corporate clients include: 118118 Ltd, Williams Medical Supplies and the National Waterfront Museum.
In addition to our workshops we provide various performance opportunities throughout the year for the communities and businesses we work with. These productions develop performance skills and benefit individuals by exploitating the skills inherent in working on theatre experiences.
Our Mission
To produce and present education and training opportunities using high quality and challenging artistic experiences, for individuals, communities and businesses to deepen their involvement in and understanding of the arts.
The Story So Far...
In 2001, David Wilson and Jamie Lee established Actorsworkshop, designing, creating and delivering workshops in Cardiff. We operated as a voluntary organisation from March 2001 until February 2003 when Actorsworkshop LLP became formally incorporated as a Limited Liability Partnership, registered in England and Wales. In 2003 we received an Arts Council of Wales Lottery grant for our work and the Company consolidated its position in South Wales.
Actorsworkshop LLP identified the need for formal funding, to underpin and support the creativity derived from workshops and to maintain the professionalism expected of a community resource. We therefore focussed on delivering tailored training programmes from 2004 to the present.
We promote our own training and development programmes, undertake other projects when funding is available and manage a portfolio of projects for a select list of clients, maintaining our commitment to the communities we serve. If you have a specific question about our services please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing info@actorsworkshop.co.uk or by contacting us through our website.
