Llanover Arts Centre
14th & 15th November 2003

After being awarded a lottery grant from The Arts Council of Wales, Actorsworkshop conceived and developed a community-oriented project, which culminated on 14th and 15th November 2003 in two performances of The Good Person of Szechwan.

Bringing together individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experience, this ambitious and forward-thinking venture is motivated by a desire to provide its cast members with an opportunity to develop their skills and abilities, and to challenge their understanding of theatre.

Production Notes:

After six weeks of rehearsals the group felt confident in presenting the play to audiences. Actorsworkshop’s creative team focussed on the development of performers and the skills individuals need to produce such a piece of theatre and have been working on building the abilities of their cast not only for the performances but also so that these skills may be used in their every day lives. Each cast member has been given the chance to discuss their learning potential and through consultation with the creative team we have been able to provide each cast member with the opportunity to stretch and explore what they already know and challenge what they do not.
