30th & 31st July 2001
To premier and raise awareness of Actorsworkshop’s artistic endeavours. Bringing to our first audience a demonstration of the potential of the practical work that is undertaken through our weekly workshop sessions.
Production Notes:
A fully costumed and designed end on theatre performance that sold out over the two day run, where we portrayed the physical elements and location of Chile as well as the themes and issues concerned.
We paralleled the topics within the play to the current situations in former Yugoslavia and any country that had achieved a democratic government after a long period of dictatorship. At the time Augusto Pinochet was in court and about to be deported back to Chile for his trial to commence, Actorsworkshop wanted to comment on the situation to help the community at large understand the situations surrounding and reasons for his deportation.
