10 to 10

NEW 10 'to 10 Event launched:

Actorsworkshop will be producing a new 10 'to 10 event at Llanover Hall Arts Centre on the 10th March 2007.BA_logo_colour_date

This unique event has been made possible by a grant from the BA (British Association for the Advancement of Science) and the Welsh Assembly Government to help us celebrate National Science & Engineering Week.

10 ‘to 10 is a collaborative performance, acted and produced by a group of theatre practitioners, working scientists and science communicators. Coming together at 10am, devising the performance, performing at 8pm the same day and evaluating the project by 10pm – the ultimate test – Science/Theatre in 12 hours!

We are currently looking for 5 actors and 5 scientists or science communicators to take this project on. As a group you will be given a series of tasks, asked to help devise the performance (based on scientific themes) and then perform to a paying audience THAT NIGHT!

Its a great opportunity to meet new people, exchange ideas and skills and generally learn whilst having a huge amount of fun. Actorsworkshop will professionally support the project by providing a technical crew, producer, director and scientific facilitator and help you create a show within 12 hours.

Please note that the rehearsals will start promptly at 10am on the 10th March and the performance begins at 8pm THAT NIGHT! Participant tickets cost £10.00 for the days tuition and includes Dinner and one complimentary ticket for a friend to see your final performance!

*Please note you will be asked to provide a packed lunch as this will be taken during the 12 hour CRAZY rehearsal process!

The Performer Deadline for applications is Monday 5th March at 6pm and for Scientist Participants the deadline is Wednesday 7th March at 6pm. We will then go through a selection process to determine who gets through!
