Workshop Members to write weekly blog!
22 Jan 2007Have you ever wondered what goes on in one of the workshops? Or how people actually got involved? Or how people apply what they learn in a workshop to their lives outside of drama?
Actorsworkshop worried about this for a long while before asking their members to do it for them! Long-term members Sarah Waters, Rachael Nicholson and Sarah Green have been asked to write a blog about each week. They will respond to the workhops as participants and detail what went on, how it was useful and what they learned. This means that if you were at all interested Actorsworkshop, but weren't sure whether its for you, now you can find out from the members' perspective.
Actorsworkshop have existed to take the perspiration out of performing, the rigmorole out of rehearsal and the shakes out of showmanship, and getting their member's to write about their experiences in a weekly blog felt the best way to promote this.
Jamie Lee, artistic director of Actorsworkshop said "Asking some of our members to write a weekly blog is a great way of opening out what we do, and this can only help get more people involved. Often the arts, especially theatre, can be difficult to get into and feel as if its all a mystery and we hope that this initiative will help us eradicate the ambigious nature of what we do".
Sarah, Rachael and Sarah are busy writing up the first two weeks workshops (The Actor's Tools and Building an Ensemble) and hopefully these will be published on Actorsworkshop's website later this week.
