Spring 08 Term Announced at Closer

Jamie Lee, Artistic Director for Actorsworkshop, announced the new series of workshops for January 2008 at the end of term production of Closer at the Wales Millennium Centre.

"We've taken a long hard look at what contemporary performers need in order to get on in the business", Jamie Lee commented, "and we've put the essentials into the Spring term. It's important for every performer to be a good allrounder with specific talent in at least one or two areas, so we've created a term that caters for every area and looks at the creative process as well."

The term's workshops include sessions on; Ensemble Acting, Building your performance confidence, Getting the Part, The Meisner Technique, Characterisation, Rehearsing with the director, Text Work, and Performing: The Next Stage.

David Wilson, Actorsworkshop's Business Director, reported "we've also approached the presentation of the term differently this Spring. Normally we keep our pick and mix style so as to help people choose their own workshops, but as we've found over the years this doersn't always lead to progressive development, we certainly won't ever lose the pick and mix option, but we thought a better, clearer term approach might allow workshop members look at their own training and development."
