New Year New Term 2008

3 Jan 2008

Actorsworkshop, the Cardiff based Theatre Company, have announced their New Year term of workshops. All held at Chapter Arts Centre, in Canton, they have announced a 12 week packed programme of workshops that look at theatre creation and the actor’s process.

The term works on the performer in everyone, and participants will learn how to integrate into the world of acting, build performance confidence and hands-on acting techniques. The term includes sessions that concentrate on auditions and how to get that all important role, a three-week master-class on Sandford Meisner, a US acting coach renowned for his work with top film actors and detailed classes on rehearsal techniques and textual analysis.

Jamie Lee, Actorsworkshop’s Artistic Director said "We've taken a long hard look at what contemporary performers need in order to get on in the business and we've put the essentials into the Spring term. It's important for every performer to be a good all-rounder with specific talent in at least one or two areas, so we've created a term that caters for every area and looks at the creative process as well."

Actorsworkshop have also changed the format slightly from their usual term and have produced a brand new look Workshop Brochure. The Spring 2008 Programme of workshops is available by download from their website (www.actorsworkshop.co.uk) or by post by calling 02920 916 965.

Also new for 2008 is their on-line workshop box office. By clicking through their website you will be able (service supplied by Ticket Source) to look at each workshop in detail and then book places direct on the website. You will be provided with an on-line reference and receipt and these will be valid for the workshops you have booked onto. Again this service is available through Actorsworkshop’s website at www.actorsworkshop.co.uk

David Wilson, Business Director for Actorsworkshop commented "providing workshop participants with on-line facilities to select and pay for workshops on-line has been a focus for us for a while. With the increased impact of the web throughout our society it is important that we are able to supply up-to-date services along-side our other activities. We are also very pleased with our new look brochure for 2008 and we hope that everyone finds this informative and helpful."
