The Green Room

The Green Room – the place to meet professionals

Actorsworkshop's current summer term of acting master-classes ends on 26th July, but as the series has been such a success they have lined up some special guests to launch a brand new professional series called The Green Room.

The Green Room will be a new series of workshops that put acting enthusiasts in touch with those working in the industry. The workshops, being held at the stunning Gate Theatre in Roath, are a continuation of Actorsworkshop’s usual sessions held mid-week at Chapter but will provide a direct link to those "in the know".

The series kicks off on the 14th July with Ben Harlow, who is currently appearing in Beauty and The Beast and is no stranger to touring across the UK and the globe. Ben, alongside Jamie Lee Actorsworkshop’s Artistic Director, will be running the master-class introducing the entertainment industry.

Following Ben on the 21st July will be Craige Els from the brand new musical Never Forget and who has just finished in the West End Hit Spamalot. This master-class is not to be missed! Get the opportunity to work with Craige, get some acting tips and have the opportunity to grill him on anything to do with the acting business including theatre schools, agents, the West End, anecdotes and much, much more!

This season of The Green Room will conclude on the 11th August with Lewis Vaughan-Jones a news correspondent for the ITV Wales news region. Lewis, a regular ITV Wales News correspondent and television presenter for the ITN news network, will join The Green Room team to discuss his experience in TV, offer helpful exercises for presenters and lead a general Q&A on the bustling and manic newsroom.

David Wilson, Actorsworkshop’s Business Director commented "I am delighted that we are able to provide these exciting events. For over 6 years Actorsworkshop provided the highest quality expertise and training in the performing arts and the fact that we can now announce The Green Room series is a testament to our working practices and professional standing. It is essential for us to provide our members with the opportunity to learn from and work with those involved in the industries we support. Actorsworkshop is very pleased to have Ben Harlow, Craige Els and Lewis Vaughan-Jones working with us."
